DrumPoint.org E-mail Address

Drum Point Flotilla members may request a DrumPoint.org address. It’s free. The member can use the on-line web based or download messages using an client program like Outlook.

A flotilla email address allows the member to send email without having to use a personal email account. A DrumPoint.org e-mail address can be displayed on this website when the member chooses, so the public can contact the member directly without the member using a personal email address. The privacy of the member is protected and the organizational image of the flotilla is improved.

These addresses also allow the flotilla to maintain informational email addresses as required. Informational addresses in accounts that are checked by an assigned member(s) of the flotilla on a regular basis.  Any FSO that needs a special email address created for a promotional purpose, as an example, may do so. DrumPoint.org addresses can be used on printed materials, business cards,  and notices thus presenting a professional appearance. The member does not have to use their personal email address. You keep flotilla communication separate from family communication.

Email Details

The DrumPoint.org e-mail accounts may be accessed by a web browser or by an email client program (SMTP based account.) The member makes the choice.

The browser interface has the advantage that the member can check e-mail from anywhere there is a computer with Internet access. Plenty of storage space is available to save messages and attachments.

This email account is the same type of account the member has with their Internet provider. It’s a good thing!

Any member can have an address. You just need to ask. Let us know what you want the email username should be and it will be set up for you.

Recognizable Addresses

The DrumPoint.org e-mail address is a highly recognizable address for Southern Maryland. Persons or community members that the member works with on a regular basis using e-mail will recognize the address as being from their local Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla. The person receiving the e-mail is less likely to think the message is spam and then disregard or delete it.

Access

Mail is accessed http://mail.drumpoint.org after your account has been created.

Messenger

The email account includes the ability to “messenger” with other members and even exchange information privately among members. The functionality is geared for organizations.

Forwarding

You can even forward messages from this account to your personal email account. It’s entirely up to you.
