Boating Safety Tip of the Day
Prevent Boat Fires Caused by Alcohol Stoves

You cannot see alcohol burn. It is heavier than air and will sink into the bilge. Make sure you run your bilge ventilation system after you refuel or use your alcohol stove.  When you can SMELL gas in the bilge ventilate before starting your engine. Boat fires are preventable.

Ray Feller past Flotilla Staff Officer for Member Training and Past Flotilla Commander instructs new crewmembers on the meaning of alacrity while working on a moving facility.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary offers many training experiences to members working to achieve various qualifications and competencies. The Flotilla Staff Officer for member Training makes sure that all of our members keep up with periodic re-qualification requirements and tells us about new opportunities to serve with Coast Guard units.
