Telecommunications Operator Personal Qualification Standard
Effective September 1, 2008 any Auxiliarist desiring to operate a VHF marine radio station facility from his or her home must not only complete the AUXCOM examination but also qualify under the new TCO standard.
A new CD is available from the ANSC on training for the Telecommunications Operator PQS (Personal Qualification). This CD contains the PQS, all the reference documents, and a new Interactive Mentoring Guide to provide everything needed for radio qualification on one CD. Order CD 2015A from the ANSC.
This course is being being developed by John Cosgrove.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary and the U.S. Power Squadrons also inspect kayaks and other paddle craft.
